About the brand

Fisher-Price was founded in 1930 in East Aurora, New York, by Herman Fisher, Irving Price, Margaret Evans Price, and Helen Schelle, and became a wholly owned Mattel subsidiary in 1993. Source: Fisher-Price history. No brand-wide materials statement was found on Mattel's Safe Start page; material claims, if any, belong per product.

What the brand publishes

Mattel's Safe Start page states that development and construction involve numerous disciplines devoted to ensuring quality and safety before products go to market, and that products meet or exceed all applicable standards. No numbered standard is named on that first-party page, and no lab is named there. Mattel launched its Medical and Scientific Safety Council in March 2021 to advise on product safety. The honest caveats

Rock ’n Play recall — not the Rock-a-Stack

Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleepers were recalled in April 2019 (CPSC recall 19-700, reannounced January 2023 as 23-088) after reports of infant deaths when infants rolled over in the inclined sleeper. This is NOT the listed Rock-a-Stack — different products, similar names — and no recall was found in this research pass for the listed Rock-a-Stack (GRF09) or Corn Popper (HBT55).
