About the brand
Nuby is the baby brand of Luv n' care, Ltd., of Monroe, Louisiana (US contact address 3030 Aurora Ave, Monroe, LA 71201, from the US FAQ). Its US Toys & Play page covers bath toys, plush toys, and other toys and play products sized for little hands. No first-party founding year was found in this research pass, so none is stated here. What the brand publishes
Nuby's US Toys & Play page states: “All toys meet or exceed strict safety standards set by the FDA, CPSC, CPSIA, and European regulatory agencies.” Its FAQ states products “meet all governmental regulations including FDA, CPSC, CPSIA and European standards/regulations.” No numbered ASTM standard, no lab, no testing steps, frequency, or process is described on either page, so this is a compliance claim, not a described testing program, which is why the listed IcyBite Keys sits at Compliance-stated. The listed product's per-product claim (packaging: ASTM F963, CPSC safety requirements) lives on its product page, not here. Sources: Nuby Toys & Play page, Nuby US FAQ.
The honest caveats
IcyBite Keys recall, January 2026 — lot ED04Z only, Canada only
Health Canada, January 21, 2026: Nuby IcyBite Keys Teethers recalled for microbial contamination of the liquid filling (Fictibacillus arsenicus and Metabacillus idriensis; infection risk if punctured and ingested). Scope is batch-specific only: item 530455, UPC 067988530455, embossed lot ED04Z, sold in Canada by EI Brand Management. Nuby's FAQ confirms the recall applies only to that Canadian lot, that the lot is molded onto the ring, and that a non-matching product is not included. The listed US unit (us.nuby.com, UPC 048526006007) is not that lot: check the lot molded on the ring against ED04Z.
Older 2009 gel-teether recall — scope unverified, no number printed
A 2009 US recall of Nuby gel-filled teethers is in the vetting record. The manufacturer notice quoted in secondary reporting limited it to products purchased before July 17, 2009. No CPSC page for that recall was opened in this pass, so no recall number and no hazard detail are printed here.
