About the brand
An imprint note first: Workman Kids is a publishing imprint, not a toy maker, and it has no standalone homepage — the link above goes to the publisher homepage, Workman Publishing, founded in 1968 by Peter Workman and part of Hachette Book Group since 2021. Its Indestructibles series was created by Amy Pixton, a mother of triplets, after bits of traditional board books found their way into her babies' mouths. The books are described as rip-proof, made of ultra-durable tight-woven material, and waterproof — chewable, droolable, washable. “Tyvek-like” material wording appears only on a mirror source and is not claimed here. What the brand publishes
An educator FAQ for Indestructibles states the books have been safety tested for ages 0+ and conform to ASTM F963 and CPSIA Guidelines, and contain none of BPA, phthalates, PVC, or lead — no edition number, no lab, no published certificate. Provenance flagged: that FAQ was found on a Hachette-affiliated mirror domain, not on workman.com itself, so it is not quoted here as a first-party Workman statement until confirmed on a Workman or Hachette first-party page. The same book-specific law as the other book brand applies: the H.R. 2715 ordinary-book testing exclusion does not cover books designed for a child 3 or younger, and no per-title certificate was found either way. The honest caveats
No recall found in this pass
